Beyonce’s “Albino Alligators” … + My Rose Gold Skin … by ©CaliLili™

Beyonce’s “Albino Alligators” … + My Rose Gold Skin … by ©CaliLili™ Due to the fact that I’m very much a mixture of cultural heritages my skin is more a pink/bronze, rose/gold and due 2 both heritage + my education in Intercultural Performance Modalities + Technique as well as anthropology … I just gotta say, I’ve never felt “white” ( tho to many I may just look like a “cali blonde” ) … but as I’m an actor / performer, I also don’t take offense to performers employing styles for fun playfulness with various intercultural “ looks ” … in fact I did some of this in my feature film.. but what stopped me in my tracks was purely coincidentally hearing the Beyonce line “albino alligator”… I checked it and yeah that was the line … admittedly I REALLY need to do added research about what it means in context tho I didn’t find much … but now… that line and it’s delivery/context … well, let’s just say on a visceral level, we all just KNOW intuitively if a fireball has been thrown … so, that line got me thinking about the blonde thing … like, yeah, ur sayin what? And ur hair is what? So … what? … Granted I’m vigilant on the topic since my upcoming film ( the first in a trilogy) addresses some of this … it got me feeling/thinking about the danger of public figures expressing racism as a false tool against racism bc that truly makes the whole world blind … if not blonde … it’s devastating to experience it when uv dedicated ur art + life to working against racism … and when u urself have been subjected to it… I’ll b curious to read more about what I may have misunderstood … but instead of spending too much energy on what may have come across negatively … I decide to just keep doing good work …. oh and … so yeah , like, who knew these guys were like, a thing …? https://youtu.be/ExdRpVqJNSo
