Recently, someone asked me if I suffered from “not having been heard ….” because sometimes in fun I will use BLOCK LETTERS TO EXPRESS MYSELF … I didn’t take his remark too seriously … even though I knew his intent was to shame. I have put some thought into his idiot comment … and I’d like to answer you now. You are correct. I DO suffer from “not having been heard” … As do many of us, perhaps even you – the shamer – with your cup of hubris running over some fallacious pride-stitched sack of self satisfied security … I believe : WeAreThe System™ and it’s time – to value the Artist in Society because she is the Artist in us all … Our Visual , Music, and Performing Artists are our proudest National Export .. Not the CORPORATE OWNERS of ARTIST STABLES … Nor the MEGA-SALARIED FEW who pluck upon our stages as though this were the privilege of the 1 Percented … the AMERICAN ARTIST DESERVES to STAY AFLOAT with whatever Demons we happen to face aboard our own little rowboats … IF WE LET the ARTIST DIE … We ourselves may SINK … into a CORPORATE WASTELAND of ENTITLED SLAVE-OWNERS … where Scrapping for FOOD is the ONLY ART.
