terroire as the french they say,
because its about the atmosphere
how
it feels itself
wills itself
into the vine

onward now

old sadnesses
fade off
stage right
doglegging
backwards into their gloomy sheath

still
sharp
Incriminating the innocence

But for the black beauty

they might have pierced
the fruits before their time
spoiled the nectar before the wine
