I was so glad to see this outstanding film nominated and awarded as a highly deserving Contender. Cali and I are happy to have participated in your event at the legendary Mann’s Chinese Theatre on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
I’ve made 80 films and “Eve N’ God This Female is Not Yet Rated” is my first Best Actor in a Feature Film Award, for a movie with this much merit.
A two character piece that I was lucky to be cast in, I was not only shocked and honored to receive the award and thrilled for Cali, but also genuinely surprised that this innovative film hasn’t yet received even more acknowledgment, especially in the categories of Best Actress and Best Director – YET.
Like I told Cali after I saw her work and work ethics on a set and her dailies in an editing room – she’s not only got something rare, but the camera loves her and people will discover her unique genius like I did, with great surprise, because they’ve never seen anyone like her before.
I’m not exaggerating when I say we’ve been hearing from audiences organizing watch parties to see this film for a third time and discuss it afterwards. I’m no longer surprised.
So I hope this award brings even wider attention to this screen “GEM” and I’d like to take this opportunity to properly acknowledge my multitalented co-star and director, Cali Lili.
Working with an actress of this caliber is a dream come true. With range & ferocity Cali took the mind of an Einstein and put it into the body of a Barbie when she played the role of “Eve,” even before there was a Barbie movie. My only wish is that this award, which could not have been possible without Cali’s performance in front of and behind the camera, will bring even more attention and appreciation for her little masterpiece, an Oscars 2020 Contender no less.

As an actor, working with you as actress and director, it was such a genuine pleasure dancing with you and I’m gonna give you the best compliment I think any actor can give another actor, which is this :
You elevate me.
You elevated me into my “A – game” up in that space that’s very rare – without all the baggage, without all the problems of life, you know, money, politics, the people that criticize or praise you, the people that acknowledge or dismiss you.
We got rid of all that B.S up there just dancing with each other, in step, like Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers.
I can’t thank you enough, you really ARE – the Best Actress.
The thing that really irritates me is how hard it is for a girl as multi-talented as you to be granted the rightful acknowledgment you’ve so righteously earned.
I watched you day after day, working for every word, sometimes finding you still joyfully working at 2 am, 3 am, jumping like a cheerleader when you found the right dialogue for these amazing roles.
I watched you gather a crew together and sift through resumes to find just the right team, which turned out to be an all female production crew, which I think was the first or at least one of the first female crews. I watched you raise the money & make the locations happen on the spot. Watched you write the songs, sing them and produce the soundtrack which became your debut album now played all over the world.
I’ve experienced you directing me with such a delicate hand that I felt safe to be so vulnerable in this role. As I’ve said before, you’re in my top 3 directors and I’ve worked with some of the best.
Even though there have been blood sweat and tears on the way – you still make it look so easy because you are blessed with so many talents. You did all this stuff, put it together so we could all shine – including you – who shined us all into the most innovative feature film that’s so ahead of its time it’s still getting discovered.
You will continue to be discovered too. I told you before – just like that great set of gams you dance with – this film – and your career – “got LEGS” —
I and others continue to be inspired by your monster work ethic – yet you manage to look gorgeous and dish out outstanding performances –
and after all that —
they give — ME — an award for squirting out a few lines of dialogue.
I now realize what you’ve been saying all along: That’s what this film is all about! How ironic that the film asks this question of us all :
“why is it still so hard for girls and women to be granted the rightful acknowledgement they’ve so righteously earned? “
I hope this award encourages people to really see the film more than once, as some reviews have mentioned. People all over the world have told us they are having watch parties with group discussions.
There is no question, this award is not just for me.

On behalf of our entire beautiful cast and awesome all female production crew, mixed gender mixed orientation post crew – and everyone else who supported this project – including musicians on the soundtrack – and local farmers who donated fruits & flowers to our “ Garden of Eve “ set – I want to express our gratitude to Peter & Jon & the entire team at the Silicon Beach Film Festival presented at the epic Mann’s Chinese Theatres on the Hollywood Walk of Fame !
It really was awesome meeting the other filmmakers and we congratulate everybody who was selected, nominated & awarded in this festival. It was an honor just to be here with you and I look forward to the future. We all know how challenging it is to make a film and also – how magical.

as we continue to take “baby steps” out into the world.
I’m so proud of the entire cast, Candace Burney as “Lila,” lending her grace and beauty to each moment of her evocative performance. Thank you “Candy,” I’m proud that I’m the only one who’s allowed to call you that.
Thank you also to the beautiful Isriya McFillin who not only portrayed for me, the iconic face of “The Global Girl,” in her first ever on camera appearance! But also lent her gifted skills as an artist to our make up department on one day of the shoot AND her graphic arts skills to some of our Tee shirt designs.
Our all female crew was a pioneering moment for us all. We looked at each other on the set and saw sisters working together to make the best film we could possibly make at a time when female teams were still rare. It’s hard to put into words my feelings toward my sisters and the precious moments we experienced together. Andria, Tiffany, Bowie, Mila, and everyone on this team – I’ll never forget you.
Our post production crew and every one of the brilliant musicians Paul, Donna, Kristen, Steve, Sean, Mark, Edi – who formed the band playing on the soundtrack which became my debut album, especially the great Reid Rice, who is both sound designer for the film and album engineer, is another magical experience with great artists that I’ll never forget and always appreciate.
We recorded this album where we shot most of the film, on a floating film set.
I can’t thank you all enough for helping us share this music with the world.
The stars were aligned for this project on the day that movie icon Wings Hauser read the script – and joyfully accepted my offer for him to play the role of a mythical “Doctor Godard” playing to my version of a modern day “Eve” character in a contemporary avant garde musical fable.
The project began as a day-dream for “the global girl.” An opportunity to amplify the voice of every woman everywhere. A chance for the girls to “speak truth” to “the most Supreme Courts” on every level of global culture.
Congratulations and gratitude to the all female production crew and mixed gender post production crew who brought not only their fine skills to this project, they also brought their own hopes & dreams — which is the reason this dream came true. We made this project by hand,
“handmade to make a difference” ™️
Now, to Wings, who so deservedly won Best Actor in a Feature Film.
Wings Hauser’s acting prowess is well known on an international basis. I wished for audiences to see his more vulnerable layers. This role was a “double dare” because not only were we never in the same room, his room was literally – a corner.
Every role Wings has ever touched is imbued with a sense of “authority,” so the power that he brought to this role was even more impressive when it was balanced by his vulnerability and tenderness. His choices, in every moment of the performance, so deftly play the music of this character with mastery and profound skill. This instrument is so finely tuned.
I never tried to convince Wings to play this role. Thankfully though, he never does favors. We based our partnership on integrity above all.
After he emerged from reading the script with that gleaming movie star smile of his – after he laughed that gorgeous laugh of his and said “I love it! Let’s go shoot this “ … I felt comfortable enough to say: “I have a feeling this will be your best performance and that you will get an award for this. “
After editing the film, I told him : “this is your best performance and you’ll get an award for this. “
And now all I have left to say is, “I told you!”

Wings! Thank you so much for bringing the “everything and more” I knew you could bring!
As a fellow actor – it’s beyond exhilarating to play those sparks with you – out of thin air. Just like making music with you, these moments are the stuff of life, electric.
As a director – I can’t thank you enough for delivering a role that was almost impossible to portray without veering too far off – in any given direction. The balance was tricky and the stakes were high.
Thank you for trusting me, with your immense talent.

As a kid, yoga brought me healing from the “toxic stress” of an abusive childhood home. As a dancer I had already found tremendous joy in my art but something about the rabid competition in the entertainment world led me to seek solace in yoga, not as a replacement for dance, but as a companion for life as an artist in the 21st-century. Yoga also accompanied me on many NYC subway rides and it was a land-based version of surfing my beloved oceans, whenever I am too far away from water. I am a water creature and yoga helps me cope with land based behaviors.
Ironically it seems that yoga has now become a competitive space in some social media and live places. LOL the joke will always be on us if we choose to worship disposable culture we will continue to be treated as disposable humans. There is so much more value in honoring timeless eternal values, we ignore our own inherent non-commercial value at our own peril.
As soon as I saw the “asanas” (yoga poses) from photos in hatha yoga books I knew this ancient body architecture was for me, especially when I found myself too far from the sea. Whenever I’d practice the meditative technique of dropping my mind into my heart space, I’d visit my voice box and I’d discover sadness but still, I was happy for no reason. Eventually I discovered my speaking and singing voice too.
Some people told me that I was being “phony “ if I was just generally a cheerful person. Those types of negative haters would tell me I was just “acting” because I’m an actress (fyi good acting is not lying ). Now that I’m sort of a grown up it’s easier to spot the negative types even from a distance. These are the people who will immediately criticize the lifestyles of others, even if those lifestyles don’t impact their own lives. They are the people who will immediately put down ideas they don’t understand, instead of asking questions, or opening up a moment of curiosity. Those who drive by something unique like a unique house, built in an unusual style, and they will immediately begin petitioning against it in order to destroy it. I’ve encountered these people often because there are several areas of my life where I don’t conform to norms whether it’s clothing or speech or lifestyle. Gentrification in Venice Beach, Los Angeles brought us into proximity with such ugly haters who actually attempted to take people’s homes away from them in order to suit both the empty-handed bullies and the billionaires who fund the bullying. In some cases, they succeeded but not when people united and stood up to them.
While it’s quite possible to learn how to fend off such rude, loud haters, and refuse to allow them to deter us, they can potentially waste our valuable time and affect our health, both of which are our most valuable resources. The bully’s intention is to throw a wrench into our peace and into our family’s sacred spaces.
That’s why fending off bullies should not be left to individuals alone. This kind of thing is mutating as the virus it always was, now encouraged by craven bestial whistles from public servants who mirror and goad outrageous, psychotic, sociopathic, behavior in places like school board meetings, and other places that are meant as civilized constructive public spaces. Their intentions are corrosive to healthy cultural societies.
We need public service announcements incorporating history lessons, showing the very simple trajectory from the loosed arrow of normalized public malevolence into its ultimate target bullseye destination : authoritarianism, which is abuse.
Abuse of power is the same as any other abuse : child abuse, domestic abuse, sexual abuse, animal abuse, environmental abuse etc
In a democracy with rule of law, all abuse requires intervention.
Doing Nothing is not an option because the law requires protection of the vulnerable among us. These days that group is growing but we can turn this toward our mutual advantage by uniting against the bullies.
During my yoga practice, as a kid, I worked through the sadness in my heart, placed there by abuse until recently, I was able to practice the meditation technique of dropping my mind into my heart space, as taught by my first Thai Buddhist and suddenly a new journey began.
As a result of so much chaos in the world I reclaimed my meditation practice and recently I dropped my mind into my heart and a very funny thing happened – I felt so ticklish that I literally burst out giggling then, laughing as in “laugh out loud” until I realized that ticklish feeling is just plain bliss! That same feeling I get when I’m in the ocean! Pure bliss! From within. I was familiar with this feeling, but it never occurred to me to try to call it up consciously. Now it felt like a superpower.
The spiritual practice of meditation, whether it be in yoga or other disciplines, is a healing practice that re-aligns us to our internal compass and reconnects us to our natural born joy.
It doesn’t matter anymore if anyone thinks of this meditation joy or any other joy – as “phony” – through an addiction to cynicism the cynics deprive themselves of joy ; female joy, black joy, multi-cultural joy, lgbtq joy, intellectual joy etc … You know, the joy that always seems to get on the authoritarian abusers’ nerves, is “phony “ or “acting “ (again, the art of a good actor is working from a sense of truth not a bunch of lying).
The lesson I discovered in meditative “bliss” is equivalent to the lesson we must all learn as we grow up. Remaining unperturbed or at least undeterred as result of abuse or criticisms & unreasonable cruel negativity expressed by others.
Unfortunately we live in a time when some of us condone, even encourage the kinds of abusive, even violent behaviors that would previously have caused most communities to unite and fight back together, in spite of political differences.
It’s time to unite.
